FAQ
Zipuplaces: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What exactly is Zipuplaces?
A: Zipuplaces is a hardware-grade zipper system that replaces traditional shoelaces. It allows athletes to "set" their desired tightness once and then use a high-strength zipper for all future gear-ups, ensuring a consistent fit every time.
Q: How long does installation take?
A: Installation is a one-time process that takes less than 5 minutes. You simply lace the Zipuplaces hardware into your existing eyelets, trim any excess lace, and secure it. From that point on, you never have to tie your shoes again.
Q: Are Zipuplaces legal for tournament play?
A: Yes. Zipuplaces are considered an athletic accessory similar to lace covers or specialized cleats. They do not contain sharp edges or hazardous materials. We recommend coaches check with their specific league coordinators (NFHS, USYS, etc.), but because they eliminate trailing laces, they are actually a safety upgrade.
Q: Can they handle "heavy" sports like football or soccer?
A: Absolutely. We use industrial-strength zippers designed to withstand lateral force, mud, and high-impact movements. Unlike traditional laces that stretch and loosen during a 90-minute match, Zipuplaces maintains constant tension.
Q: Will they fit any shoe?
A: Zipuplaces are universal. They work on soccer cleats, basketball high-tops, running shoes, and even casual sneakers. If the shoe has eyelets for laces, it can be "Zipped."
Q: My child has trouble tying shoes. Is this a good fit for them?
A: Yes! This is one of our most popular use cases. Zipuplaces provides independence for younger athletes and those with fine motor skill challenges, allowing them to gear up just as fast as their teammates.
Q: Do you offer team or club discounts?
A: We do! We offer tiered bulk pricing for teams, schools, and tournament organizers who want to equip their entire roster with a unified, professional look.
